Marilyn DentonRespectful Harvest
Respectful harvesting involves deep connection and reciprocity with nature. The focus is on ethical practices such as asking permission from plants and thanking them before gathering begins. One should only take what is needed – never more than 1/3 of what is available. Avoid the first and last harvest of the season. Use clean cuts while never wasting. Always share and give thanks. All the while ensuring 100% positive identification and avoiding contaminated areas.
