Spring Boy and his Twin

A young Crow couple break with tradition by camping alone and having a permanent camp. While the husband hunts, the pregnant woman is visited by an old woman. When it comes time to give birth, the old woman betrays her and takes out a knife and cuts out her twin boys. Old Red Woman knows that they are powerful beings, so she throws one in the spring and the other behind the tipi lining.

When the husband comes back, he finds his dead wife propped up by a short tipi pole. He takes her and ties her to a tree limb.

The boys grow up fast and eventually Tipi Lining Boy reveals himself to his father in order to comfort him. Tipi Lining Boy coaxes his brother out of the spring, and they become companions, but he always disappears when the father comes home for the day. Finally, Tipi Lining Boy enlists the help of his father to pull his twin brother from the spring and the three of them begin to live together.

The twins soon realize how much their father still mourns his wife. Wanting to comfort him, the boys go in search of his wife, their mother, who they find tied to a tree limb. They bring her body home and use several tools to bring her back to life.

When their father returns home the boys reveal what they have done. In disbelief the man is reunited with his wife.

With their mother brought back to life, the boys begin to question her about the surrounding lands. Their mother warns them of all the dangerous beings that inhabit the Earth. One by one, the boys begin their quest to find and destroy these dangerous things.

Soon they have rid the earth of many dangerous beings. The old woman who eats children, the tree that falls on people, the canyon that crushes people, the roaring buffalo and the tipi full of snakes were all destroyed by these remarkable young boys.

After ridding the Earth of the evil powerful beings, the twins had little to do. Unknown to them there was yet another powerful being who lived up in the sky, Long Arm. Spring Boy was soon captured by Long Arm who planned to eat him.

Tipi Lining Boy noticed a hole in the sky and was soon on a journey to find his brother. This journey ends with a confrontation with Long Arm and the Black Eagles and a harrowing escape
