Sept 26, 2025, saw the passing of foundational NMP supporter Dick Stepp. Dr. Richard Stepp was an emeritus professor in the Physics and Astronomy Department at Cal Poly Humboldt. As one of NMP’s earliest and most loyal financial supporters. Dr Stepp financed many NMP and tangential efforts. He was an early supporter of Dr. Meldrum’s Sasquatch expeditions. It was through expeditions in Colorado and Washington state that he met John Mionczynski. He began supporting John’s Whiskey Mountain Bighorn Sheep Studies. He eventually found his way to Sharon Kahin and began supporting early NMP efforts, as well as Reba Teran’s Shoshone dictionary. Most recently he has been responsible for a yearly challenge grant for our Wyoming Gives Fundraiser.
Dr. Stepp generosity was only surpassed by his curiosity and for both NMP is grateful.
